What Is Claude Design?
Claude Design is Anthropic's new experimental product that lets you create visual prototypes, presentations, one-pagers, and UI mockups using natural language. You describe what you want, Claude creates an initial version, and you refine from there.
It launched in April 2026 as a research preview for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. It's powered by Claude Opus 4.7.
What Can It Actually Do?
You can describe a mobile app prototype, a pitch deck, a landing page mockup, or a one-pager, and Claude will generate it. The output isn't just a wireframe. It includes functional structure, layout logic, and often usable frontend code.
For example, you could prompt: "Design a client dashboard for a marketing agency. Show campaign performance, budget spend, and upcoming deadlines. Use a clean, modern layout with a dark sidebar." Claude Design generates a working prototype.
Who Is This For?
Founders, product managers, and small teams who need to go from idea to visual quickly without opening Figma or hiring a designer. It's not replacing senior design work. It's replacing the 2-3 days you'd spend trying to mock something up yourself or briefing a freelancer.
What It Can't Do
It's not Figma. You can't do detailed pixel-level design work. It doesn't handle complex animation, brand system management at scale, or production-ready assets. Think of it as the bridge between a napkin sketch and a proper design brief.
Export Options
You can export as PDF, URL, or PPTX. There's also a Canva integration where your Claude Design output becomes fully editable in Canva. This is the smart play for teams: generate the structure in Claude, polish in Canva.
Should You Use It?
If you're a founder or small team that spends too much time trying to make things look good enough to share, yes. If you have a design team, it's a useful first-pass tool that speeds up the briefing process.
Need Something More Custom?
Claude Design is great for quick prototypes. For production-quality web apps, client portals, and business systems, OrcaScale builds the real thing. We turn prototypes into working products.
